As you move along your path towards optimal health, food sensitivities and food intolerances usually come up. It is often a part of the process of getting to know your body well.
Food sensitivities or intolerances involve a set of immune system antibodies in the body called IgG antibodies. The sensitivity is a reaction in your body to a food, drink, or substance found in food. The reaction causes symptoms in the body such as the digestive system, the skin, mental/emotional and general symptoms throughout the body.
Some examples of digestive symptoms are gas, bloating, abdominal cramping, loose stools, heartburn, and constipation. Some examples of symtoms in the skin are eczema, psoriasis, acne and hives. Some examples of mental/emotional symptoms are anxiety, irritability, depression and insomnia. Some examples of general body symptoms are fatigue, water retention, joint stiffness and high blood pressure.
Food sensitivities are not to be confused with food allergies. A true food allergy is often the kind that produces severe or anaphylactic reactions, and involves IgE antibodies.
As you uncover your food sensitivities, and get to know your body better, you may find that your body becomes less sensitive to these foods, as your subluxations get corrected and your nervous system functions more optimally.
